Excellent luster, very sharp strike, no spots.
1907-1933
In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned Augustus Saint Gaudens to create a new U.S. gold coin series. Hence, the highly coveted $10 Gold Indian Eagle was born. The first $10 Gold Indian was missing the motto "In God We Trust," since President Roosevelt was against it. But after the public protested, Congress authorized the use of the motto.
The $10 Gold Indians were minted sporadically. Millions of these gold coins were confiscated by the U.S. Treasury and most of them were destroyed in a major meltdown. Both of these factors make the $10 Gold Indians highly collectible.
